3,986. A Corpse on the Temple Mount
Hilchos Bias HaMikdash 3:3
A zav, a zavah,* a menstruant woman and a woman who gave birth are sent out of two “camps,” i.e., they may not enter the Temple Mount. This is because they convey ritual uncleanliness by sitting or lying on something, even if that object is under a rock. This is not the case with corpse impurity.
Hilchos Bias HaMikdash 3:4
One who is ritually unclean with corpse impurity is allowed to enter the Temple Mount; this is even true of an actual corpse. We learn this from Exodus 13:19, which says that “Moshe took the bones of Joseph with him,” i.e., he brought them with him into the Levite camp.
*A zav and a zavah are a man and a woman who have experienced particular types of genital discharges, respectively.
