3,910. The Instruments Played

Hilchos Klei HaMikdash 3:4

The instruments played included lyres, flutes, harps, trumpets and cymbals, as follows: from two to six lyres; from two to twelve flutes; from two to 120 trumpets; no fewer than nine harps with no maximum number; a single cymbal only.

Hilchos Klei HaMikdash 3:5

On all the holidays and on rosh chodesh, the kohanim would blow trumpets while the sacrifices were offered and the Leviim would sing, as per Numbers 10:10: “On the day of your rejoicing, and on your holidays, and on the start of your months, you shall sound the trumpets.” The trumpets were made from blocks of silver. If they were made from silver scraps they were fit for use, but if they were made of other metals they were unfit for use. The flutes had reeds of cane, which makes a pleasant sound. The melody was played by a single flute, which sounds nicer.
