1,350. Freshly-Laundered Clothes

211:4 The mourner is not permitted to wear a freshly-laundered garment during shiva, not even a shirt and not even in honor of Shabbos. Even sheets, blankets and hand towels may not be taken from the clean laundry. However, in honor of Shabbos, one may use freshly-washed tablecloths.

211:5 The mourner may not wash his clothes himself, not even to put them aside until after shiva, because this is work. If others have his clothes, they may wash them just as they may perform any other form of contracted labor.
