#197: Siddura D'pat

1. Over the next few months, we will be studying practical halachot based on the first set of eleven melachot known as “Siddura D’pat” (order of bread). These are the melachot necessary in order to prepare bread, and were also performed in the Mishkan in similar fashion in order to prepare the dyes used for the curtains, as mentioned previously.

2. Here is the list of melachot included in “Siddura D’pat”:

a. Zore’a (planting)

b. Choresh (plowing)

c. Kotzer (harvesting)

d. Me’amer (gathering)

e. Dash (threshing)

f. Zoreh (winnowing)

g. Borer (separating)

h. Meraked (sifting)

i. Tochen (grinding)

j. Losh (kneading)

k. Bishul/Afiyah (cooking/baking)
