Ohalos 9:1-2

Ohalos 9:1

Let’s say that a beehive was in a doorway with its opening facing outside. If an olive-sized piece of a corpse is placed below or above the part that protrudes outside, then everything that is directly below or above that olive-sized piece is rendered unclean but whatever is not directly below or above that piece, whatever is inside the hive and whatever is inside the house remains clean. If the impurity is in the house, then only the house is rendered unclean; if the impurity is in the hive, then everything is rendered unclean.

Ohalos 9:2

If the beehive was one handbreadth (about 3”) off the ground and there was ritual impurity below it, in the house or above it, then everything is rendered unclean except for the contents of the hive; if the impurity is inside the hive, then everything is rendered unclean.
