3,714. Fixing a Wall
Hilchos Shemittah v’Yoveil 2:12
“Shoulder stones,” meaning two or three stones that are carried on the shoulder together, may be brought from anywhere – from another’s field or one’s own. Similarly, one who has leased a field may bring even small stones from anywhere – from the field he has leased or from another field.
Hilchos Shemittah v’Yoveil 2:13
Let’s say that a breach in a wall has been filled with dirt. If it doesn’t pose a hazard to the public, the wall may not be rebuilt. If poses a hazard, or if the breach wasn’t filled but was left open to the public domain, then the wall may be rebuilt.
