Keilim 17:2-3
Keilim 17:2
A water skin is purified based on holes through which spools of yarn for the warp can pass. If yarn for the warp passes through it but yarn for the woof cannot, it remains susceptible to impurity. If a crate for bowls can’t hold bowls but it can hold trays, it remains susceptible. If a potty can’t hold liquids but it can hold solid waste, it remains susceptible to impurity; Rabban Gamaliel rules it insusceptible since people typically discard such a utensil.
Keilim 17:3
Bread baskets are purified based on a hole through which loaves of bread can pass. A lattice reinforced with reeds from the bottom is insusceptible to impurity, though if one made a rim of any size for it, it is susceptible. Rabbi Shimon says that if the lattice can’t be picked up by the rim, it is insusceptible.
