Parah 10:5-6

Parah 10:5

Let’s say that a person was standing outside an oven. He stretched his hand to a window and took a flask, which he then passed over the oven. In such a case, Rabbi Akiva says that it’s unclean, while the Sages say that it’s clean. One who is clean for the sanctification water may stand over an oven holding in his hand an empty vessel that’s clean for the sanctification water or one that’s filled with water that has not yet been sanctified.

Parah 10:6

Regarding a flask of sanctification water that touched one containing sanctified food or trumah, the one containing the sanctification water is rendered unclean while the one containing the sanctified food or trumah remains clean. If one held the two flasks – one in each hand – then both are rendered unclean. If the flasks were wrapped in separate papers, they remain clean. If the flask of sanctification water was wrapped in paper but the one of trumah was held in his hand, both are rendered unclean. If the flask containing trumah was wrapped in paper while the one containing the sanctification water was held in his hand, both remain clean; Rabbi Yehoshua says that the flask containing the sanctification water is rendered unclean. If both flasks were placed on the ground and he touched them (at the same time), the flask of sanctification water is rendered unclean but the one containing the sanctified food or trumah remains clean. If he moved the flasks (without touching them, such as on a board), Rabbi Yehoshua declares them unclean while the Sages rule them clean.
