1,128. Teaching Torah to One's Children
165:8 According to the law, it's permissible for a Jewish baby to be nursed by a non-Jewish woman but it's preferable to have it done by a Jewish woman if possible. Similarly, if a Jewish nursing mother needs to eat some non-kosher food for medical reasons, it would be better not to nurse on those days, if possible.
165:9 Every father is obligated to teach his son Torah as per Deuteronomy 11:19, "teach them to your children, to speak of them." Just as one is required to teach his son, he is required to teach his grandson, as per Deuteronomy 4:9, "and make them known to your children and your grandchildren."
