1,061. Hugging and Kissing

152:9 A man may not inquire as to a woman's well-being and he may not send her greetings, not even through her husband. Therefore, when a man writes a letter to his friend, he may not add "Greetings to your wife." However, it is permitted to ask her husband or someone else how she is, so one may write to his friend, "Let me know how your wife is."

152:10 It is forbidden for a man to hug or kiss a woman, even if she is a relative from whom he derives no enjoyment. One may not approach a woman at all. The only exceptions are that a father may hug and kiss his daughter, and a mother her son.
