3,396. Figs, Grapes and Carob

Hilchos Maaser 3:17

If figs or grapes are put aside, one may snack from them in the place they were put, but not if he took some of them from there to another place. This is because the labor of the produce has been completed even though the fruits have not yet fully dried.

Hilchos Maaser 3:18

Carobs are considered completed when one gathers them on the roof to dry. One may then bring some down for use as animal feed. These need not be tithed because he will return the leftover portion, meaning that its use as animal feed is a temporary use.
