If a servant is taken captive, since he immersed in a mikvah and accepted the mitzvos, he is redeemed just like a Jew who was taken captive. If a captive was an apostate even vis-à-vis one mitzvah, such as if he eats meat without ritual slaughter specifically to spite God, he may not be redeemed.

A woman takes priority over a man when it comes to being fed, clothed and redeemed from captivity. This is because it’s more embarrassing for a woman to beg than it is for a man. If they’re both being held captive and in danger of being violated sexually, then the man is redeemed first.
