2,937. The Burnt Offerings of the Doubtfully Impure Doubtful Metzora Nazir

Hilchos Nezirus 10:6

As far as the three animals brought as burnt offerings along with the aforementioned sin offerings, the nazir with doubtful tzaraas and doubtful impurity brings them conditionally. On the first, he says, “If I was ritually clean, this is for my obligation. If I was unclean, it’s a freewill offering.” He stipulates likewise for the second and third.

Hilchos Nezirus 10:7

When he shaves for the fourth time, he brings his purity offerings and says, “If I was unclean, the first burnt offering was a freewill offering and this is for my obligation. If I definitely had tzaraas, the first burnt offering was for my obligation as a metzora and this one is for my nezirus obligation, while the two in the middle were freewill offerings. If I was ritually clean but I had tzaraas, the first and second were for my obligations – one as a metzora and the other for the nezirus. The third and fourth offerings were then freewill offerings and the rest are for my purity offerings. If I was unclean and I had tzaraas, then the first offering was for my obligation as a metzora, the second and the third were freewill offerings and this is my offering for shaving in purity.”
