Maasros 3:1

If a person is carrying figs through his courtyard to the place where he will lay them out to dry, the members of his household may snack on them without tithing. Workers who are not entitled to eat from his produce can also snack without tithing (because the figs are then a gift) but those who are entitled to eat from his produce must take tithes from the figs before eating them (because it’s like he sold them figs as part of their business arrangement).

Maasros 3:2

If a landowner brings his workers out into the field, if they are not entitled to eat from his produce, they may snack without tithing. Those who are entitled to eat from his produce may eat individual figs from the tree but they may not eat figs gathered or collected in a basket or a shed.
