Gittin 9:6-7

Gittin 9:6

If two gets were written side by side and two witnesses signed in Hebrew (from right to left) under one, with their signatures extending under the other, and two witnesses signed in Greek (from left to right) under one with their signatures extending under the other, the get is valid for whichever couple’s names are read with the first set of witnesses. If these four witnesses signed alternating Hebrew, Greek, Hebrew and Greek, one under the other, the get is not valid for either couple.

Gittin 9:7

If the husband left out part of get and he wrote it in a second column and the witnesses’ signatures are under this new column, the get is valid. If they signed at the top of the column, on the side, or on the back of an unfolded get, it is invalid. If two gets were written head to head on the same sheet with the witnesses’ signatures in the middle, neither get is valid. If the two gets were bottom to bottom with the witnesses’ signatures in the middle, the get is valid for the couple whose names can be read with the signatures. If the top of one get meets the bottom of the other with the witnesses’ signatures in the middle, the get is valid for the couple whose names can be read with the signatures.
