Eduyos 3:4-5
Eduyos 3:4
Rabbi Dosa says that all mats are susceptible to corpse uncleanliness; the Sages say that they are (also) susceptible to midras uncleanliness (i.e., from a zav, etc.). Rabbi Dosa says that all woven meshes are not susceptible to impurity except for a girdle; the Sages say that all meshes are susceptible to uncleanliness except for those used to tie up wool.
Eduyos 3:5
A sling with a woven pouch is susceptible to uncleanliness. Rabbi Dosa ben Harkinas says that a sling with a leather pouch is not susceptible to uncleanliness but the Sages say that it is. If the sling’s finger hole is cut, it is not susceptible to uncleanliness (no longer being usable, it loses its status as a utensil). If the strap is cut, it remains susceptible to uncleanliness (because it can still be used).
